Nubia: the Awakening by Clarence A. Haynes, Omar Epps

Did not finish book. Stopped at 74%.
I’m upset at this one. I am not in my SciFi era and there were so many things that intrigued me with this one. I thought I could just push through and enjoy the moments but I just couldn’t.
Things I enjoyed -
- the setting was really interesting, futuristic NY with heavy African influence which I loved
- the special powers the Nubians were awakening

Things I couldn’t grasp -
- the MC’s age lol I know this is small but they talked and communicated like they were middle school aged but then would randomly throw F bombs around like wait a minute what are we doing
- there’s 4 POVs and I really did not feel connected to anyone
- the pacing was not my favorite, we were here then we were there then we were up n down, it wasn’t a true fluid motion for me and I was quickly flustered with just getting a grasp on the story
