I finished reading this book in October. I think the timing couldn’t be more appropriate with the election 29 days away. Our country is no less divided today than it was in the 1940’s. The propaganda and misinformation machine is fired up only this time instead of Hitler, Putin is the one meddling in our affairs.

There are so many parallel comparisons to events that happened during the lead up to America’s involvement in WWII to the lead up to our next presidential election that it’s almost a little nerve wracking.

Rachel Maddow is a very intelligent person and her writing is a reflection of that. Her books are well researched and enjoyably approachable.
