I’m sorry, but no. I’m not doing this. I remember I used to love these, but whatever charm they used to have is absolutely gone for me.
All I could do while reading this was cringe. It’s so sexist and so uncomfortable. The way these men talk makes me want to puke.

Now that I think about it, I’m pretty sure the entire premise of every single one of these books has been this:
An arsehole hockey player disrespects, objectifies and uses women all around him, but then he meets the one (whom, by the way, he treats like trash at the beginning as well), which results in the hot dude-bro getting doggie trained or something. And then at the end the lucky girl should somehow be ecstatic to have him only want her now and even have him as a boyfriend! Wow, amazing, right!?
Then also mix in some “playful” banter and we’ve reached the end of our journey.
Um, noooo thank you. I think not. Pass.

I honestly feel slightly embarrassed for the love I used to have for the first few of these books. My only hope is thinking that they didn’t used to be so bad, and maybe this one was exceptionally dreadful, but I fear that that might be lying to myself.
