Pretty Little Island by Rhea Ryan

5.0

As a huge fan of dark, emotional, and angsty reads, this one checked all the boxes for me and was a phenomenal debut novel from Rhea.

The hockey team, cheerleaders, and a few members of the newspaper from Ocean Prep board a plane to attend a national hockey tournament in Alaska, but they never make it after their plane crashes on a remote island in Alaska.

The emotional relationships, dark pasts, and desperation to survive the harsh wilderness made for a very emotional and suspenseful read. This story is told from the FMC, London's point of view, as she navigates learning to survive, hunt, and fight while sorting out her feelings for both Micah and Maison, twin brothers on the hockey team. Their chemistry is amazing, and the spice is steamy.

I adored the complexity of the characters and story. Everyone has something they are trying to hide, and London has to figure out who is telling the truth and who she can trust. The island changes the characters as the days go by. Alliances form, tensions are high, and everyone is trying to survive with the winter coming and a rescue team yet to find them.

The cliffhanger this book ends on has me so excited for book two. Thank you to Rhea and Chaotic Creatives for the ARC copy of Pretty Little Island. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
