the premise of the book isn’t inherently bad and I actually enjoyed the story at times, however, the writing was so childish and just lacked any sort of conviction at times. for starters the author used the ‘a) point one, b) point two’ timid way too many times it became infuriating. if there’s no other way for you to include two thoughts in a sentence maybe just give it a rest. also the holes in the beginning of the story were such a dealbreaker. the main character is an actress yet she’s paranoid about an unknown Instagram account viewing her story?? and the half-fleshed plot line that was Charlie's childhood trauma added nothing of real substance to the story it just felt like an after thought if anything.
