For the Wolf by Hannah Whitten

Did not finish book.
DNF @ page 249.

I hate DNFing, I really really hate DNFing, and I will do a lot to avoid DNFing a book, however, this book just isn't doing it for me and it's making me not want to read.

The plot isn't moving anywhere for 200 pages (don't know beyond that 'cause... I DNFed). It's incredibly repetitive, I don't need to be told 10 times that she can't bleed in the forest, I got it the first time.

But it's not just the slow, not-really-moving-at-all plot, 'cause I can do slow plots if the characters are good. I appreciate a good character-driven story. These characters though? Simply fall flat. I felt no connection with either of them whatsoever.

I feel like the premise had potential. With maybe 100 pages less, make it more atmospheric (this could've been proper creepy) and maybe characters with just a tad more personally, this could've been pretty interesting.

Also, I'm still confused if this is YA or adult? For some reason I can't tell. It's like it wants to be adult, but prose wise is still kind of YA.
