Frankenstein in Baghdad by Ahmed Saadawi
5.0
very much loved this book . brilliant structure in that the mosaic format reflects both Frankenstein's creation from multiple body parts as well as the fractured social situation under american occupation and rival militias.
the various characters were all compelling and interesting as their individual motives moved through the greater backdrop.
the commentery on hero-worship, sectarianism, innnocence and guilt were all very interesting.
highly recommend!
