The novel gave a bit more detail compared to when I first read the story on the app “Mana”. I loved reading Maxi’s story in the novel, I felt like I got to know more about her, and Riftan as well.

The first time I heard about this story, I was immediately drawn, and knew I had to get my hands on it, find a way to read it. This story had everything from magic, monsters, knights, princesses, romance, passion, and heartfelt moments between the main characters.

Maxi, the main protagonist, was a character who struggled with not only her confidence, but also coming to terms with realizing her self worth and trying to overcome the emotional and physical pain from being abused by her own father. My heart truly broke whenever Maxi would believe the horrible things her father constantly told her growing up. From a young age, Maxi dealt with so much negativity that when she finally reunited with Riftan, she couldn’t fathom that her own husband would want her. Over the course of the story, Maxi was able to develop some self assurances in herself, and while it wasn’t a complete process that happened quickly, it was a slow transition that warranted her taking things at her own pace.

Obviously I loved the romance between Maxi and Riftan. In the beginning, Maxi was still unsure on how to act around Riftan, let only know what to do in order to assume her role as Riftan’s wife. Riftan seemed more than happy to give into his desires for Maxi, and the man couldn’t keep his hands off her. Poor Maxi, she was dealt a hard hand having to deal with an absolutely gorgeous, strong, powerful man with an insatiable hunger for her….(I’m obviously being sarcastic, HOMEGIRL WAS LUCKY TO HAVE RIFTAN ALL FOR HERSELF)
*insert I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE AUDIO*
This romance was filled was passion that left me wanting more, especially when certain scenes ended up going on for at least 2 to 3 chapters! WOW! Talk about stamina *wink, wink.

I also enjoyed the fantasy/magical aspect in this story. I liked that combining the fantasy with the monsters, wizards, knights, and of course romance created a fascinating and fun story to read. I loved this story and if you liked reading this, I would also recommend reading the story on the app “Mana” where you can see Maxi and Riftan and other characters as their story unfolds.
