Book one in the Christmas Daddies series follows Baxter & Paxton two single Dads thrust together during the festive season by their teenage kids signing them up to some sort of buddy system their school planned. This is packed full of grumpy/sunshine, found family, humour, hallmark-esque cuteness, festive feels, and spice. These two don't start out on the best foot but it doesn't take long for Paxton to realise Baxters sunshiney disposition actually masks a lot of pain and loneliness and he sets out to make Christmas as special for Baxter and his daughter as he can.
This was a re-listen for me and i enjoyed it as much this time as I did the first, it is such a cosy adorable story about two families coming together and filling in the missing pieces for each other. The story is told in dual POV, and there are plenty of festive vibes throughout, and the spice was spicier than I expected, so don't let that cover fool you. I loved Nathan & Becca, the MMCs kids and thought they were written well, the story isn't without some angst but overall it is a story about finding love in your 40s, community support and family. Liam Dicosimo & Stephen Dexter narrate the audiobook and are fantastic as always. Highly recommend adding this to your festive season tbr/tbl. 🌶🌶🌶
