I do love me some Emily Henry, but this one wasn't my favorite. The pacing of the romance was very odd to me, particularly at the beginning when the book was trying to convince us this was any sort of antagonism and through the middle where it felt like the MMC just disappeared for a bit. While I tend to love how meta Henry can get in her work, this one crossed the line for me. It was so intensely self-aware that it started to become annoying, and it certainly lifted me clean out of the book.

Still, with any Henry, you are sure to get nice, sharp writing and excellent one-liners.
