This duology SLAPS. I love the secret wedding trope - we also got that in ACOTAR when Feyre and Rhys get married in secret and then one day Rhys gets to whip out “WE MUST GET TO MY WIFE” and everyone’s like “HUH!?!” That happens in this book, too, and I LOVE IT.

I love that Kazi is tested by Jase’s family when she gets to the vault they’re hiding in. How they don’t trust her and turn her in, and then when Jase gets there he’s like “YOU DID WHAT” and they’re all ashamed and have to help with the rescue. YES.

Lots of drama and near deaths and then MORE near deaths in this book. I thought we had a lot more close calls than I’m used to in typical stories like this, and it felt suspenseful and I loved the conclusion. We love a HEA.
