Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy

Goodness, what a feast. I am sure this is a cliche, but I have never encountered another author who can bring out characters' interior lives as richly as Tolstoy is able to. I have War and Peace on my list, will probably give this one a little time to settle into my brain before tackling that one, but I truly loved this book.
