Lonely Castle in the Mirror by Mizuki Tsujimura

4.5/5
It took me a while to get into the style of writing, the symbolism and the different ways of addressing one another in Japanese. I've read other translated works this past year so I thought I might've been used to it but apparently there are still a lot of variations. The story could have been shorter, especially after the introduction of all the characters, but in the end, I can understand the need to describe the emotions and connections between the characters in a more in-depth way. I love it when a story comes together in the end, and this one definitely does. It makes me hopeful for the new school year, which I guess was the goal of the person who gifted me this book for my birthday.
