As cozy mysteries go this one has some interesting elements with the magic and shifter angles thrown into the mix. I do not particularly like the main character but her cop friend is likable. I do not like his dog or her dynamic with it. That being said I am willing to keep chugging on with the series. I have hope it will get more engaging as secrets are revealed. Two books in and I really feel like I do not have an understanding of the world and really hope that changes with the next book.
