By now I think I know every kink of Lynn Painter’s by heart but let me tell you: I enjoyed this piggyback ride of a marathon. This one managed to take me by surprise (I thought the antagonism between the two would last much longer and was relieved it didn’t) and I liked the fact that the big fallout didn’t last very long either. Lynn Painter writes straightforward, funny stories with charismatic characters and sure, she never reinvents the wheel but she makes it extra pretty and enjoyable so kudos to her. I’ll be reading her next novel as soon as it comes out.
