This is a quite slow book, but I really enjoyed it. You definitely have to be alert when reading it though because it will give you a lot to think about.
About the ending:
On the one hand, I think the ending makes sense. Why would she find out what happened? There’s no one left. On the other hand, I am very curious. What happened! Why were they in bunkers, why did the siren go off, where did everyone go? The many questions that were left unanswered are bothering me a bit as the reader.
There were almost no chapters at all in this (3? I think) and no natural stops within these long chapters which was kind of a pain as I often had to stop reading in the middle of something, but the text was very beautifully written. Great descriptions and I really felt the emotions of the women in the book.
