3.5 stars. There were so many things to love about this book: Douglass' descriptive voice, Jake's personal journey, the up-close-and-personal look into the main antagonist's psyche... I had fun reading this, but there were times when it felt like it was flying by so quickly I could hardly keep up. Jake's personality was lost in the noise of the action happening around him and the tone of the book switched rapidly. The resolution also felt quick compared to the build-up.
