2025 Re-read
I think I enjoyed this more the second time than I did the first. Still not a perfect book by any means, but lots of cool new plot points came up in this one and character development was nice.

This wasn't as epic as the first and it does fall a little into the middle book slump, but it still lives in that sweet spot of scifi that I have always loved. Lots of found family, a mixture of Battlestar Galactica and Mass Effect in terms of the lore.

There were some interesting character bits in this, which is why I still enjoyed this one even though it was a bit slower than the first book and I think only BSG fans can really enjoy the sequences of jump-prep-jump while out running enemies because it's kind of really boring when you think about it but being a BSG fan, totally used to it and enjoyed it anyway lol.
