This book was a delight. I didn't know how much I needed historical men pining over eachother and damn it was good.
It had the perfect dynamic of the sweet shut-in guy and the more bold outgoing love interest working together and it was so much fun. The conversations they had together were full of so much adoration and love as the book continued I absolutely loved it. Made me feel very happily gay.
I also really enjoyed the magic system in this book. The way the cradling (spellcasting) worked was so delicate and beautifully described I was in awe every time magic was used. This totally ties in with the love both characters have for it which worked together really well.
This book was a joy to read and I'm excited to read the next soon while I will be recommending this book to others.
