Daydream and Drunkenness of a Young Lady by Clarice Lispector

5.0

i needed these short stories after nausea by jean-paul sartre; gorgeous existential writings that are sensual and sumptuous, and aware of the duality of our nauseas, their lionesses of compassion too, the fear and benevolence. with their feminist discussions upon how men retain female happiness within mediocrity in ‘amor’ through the idea of a protective love, how men want women there on their saturday, just to have them, possessions, like a sickness, they are of such profound thought. i hope to read a novel by lispector soon.
