Funny You Should Ask by Elissa Sussman
3.0
it was overall a very nice read, i just don't think it'll stick with me at all.
the concept had so much potential but it felt a little dragged out to me. a lot of times i felt like we were going somewhere but not going forward. sometimes it felt like everything was happening but nothing was really happening, making the end feel a tad rushed. maybe it would be more impactful as a shorter story.
i liked the characters but didn't quite connect with them like i wanted.
my biggest problem was: she's getting all that praise for her article but it didn't really make an impression on me. it was fine but i don't understand the big deal.
i did fucking love the ollie article.
so yeah, overall i feel like all the hype it got on tiktok made this book a little underwhelming for me but i would still recommend it as a fun little pool side read.
