I am drawing a blank when it comes to this book. 5 star rating... It just felt like scoring anything lower wasn't fair.
Well.. in short. It's one of those books that you start reading and don't want to put down. Once you start, you're pulled into the historic setting. And as we know history is filled with beliefs and morals and social code that would absolutely NOT DO these days. Religion, homosexuality, children born out of wedlock, blatant racism, etc. Anyway, I kept waiting for something magical to happen.. alas, the whole story is really tragic. It's a snippet. With all the drama you can imagine. And yet, maybe the magic here was my inability to look away. It was mesmerizing and it hurt.
