The ending was way overhyped, but its not a bad one. BookTube really loved this ending, but its pretty average to me -- though I can see why several of the BookTubers who hyped this up did, based on their preferences in books.

This book is good, and it has several entertaining and unique plot points, but it does suffer from a few tropes that a large number of people will not like, myself included. That being said, it doesn't ruin the book, just makes me roll my eyes.

Overall, it's worth finishing the series, but I still don't think Brent Weeks is ever going to write a top 10 fantasy series for me -- regardless of how much my IRL friends love his books. I think that younger readers and those relatively inexperienced in the modern fantasy genre will like this series more than experienced fantasy readers will.
