Another whirlwind adventure with the gang at St Mary's although not the St Mary's we have grown to love its another St Mary's where the characters are the same but different. At the end of the last book Max was thrust into this different reality by Mrs Peacock and in my review then I said I wasn't sure if I was going to like how this went. This instalment is my least favourite so far and its because of the whole Time Police/ oh no there is a threat to the characters and the place we love plot line. Its like when a television series feels like it is losing viewers so all of a sudden there is a threat to the team. The team has an arch nemesis or may be split up or something dramatic like that. But despite not liking the overarching story of this volume it was well written and it contained the characters I love. Max is fast becoming a favourite fictional character of mine because she is just so real. Also it was good to get some more information about her unhappy childhood which had just been alluded to in previous books.
