The Haunting Season: Ghostly Tales for Long Winter Nights by Natasha Pulley, Laura Purcell, Kiran Millwood Hargrave, Bridget Collins, Sara Collins, Jess Kidd, Andrew Michael Hurley, Imogen Hermes Gowar, Elizabeth Macneal

"Oh, what it is to realize that the only thing worse than there being somebody there is there being nobody there."

The Haunting Season is a collection of eight ghostly tales. From a Christmas market to a haunted country estate to a London mansion with a girl frozen in death, each story is haunting and brings out the macabre.

This book is perfect for winter. Reading it while cozied up in a blanket, a candle burning, and a cup of tea nearby really set the mood. The stories were atmospheric, chilling, and beautifully written.

I was familiar with 3 of the authors and the rest were new to me. It was hard to pick a favourite as I really enjoyed most of the stories, but I think The Chillingham Chair by Laura Purcell and Confinement by Kiran Millwood Hargrave were my absolute favourites.

It is obviously still winter so I highly recommend this for the season!
