Ah, this book definitely pull on all your feelings. Safiya is back in the hands of the Emperor, a pure evil person who with all his power feels invincible. Will the guys arrive in time to save her? Or will the Khasar bind her to him forever?

Safiya suffered greatly in the previous years as we learned in the first book, and it's not over yet. I was so concerned over her being back in his grasp after finding her freedom. The Khasar is wanting her true power, and he gives 0 craps that he is draining her thinking she'll give in. I love that we get to see Safiya give it right back to him and show another side.

One thing that Devyn really nails is the way the guys help her with her trauma. It's not magically (pun intended lol), fixed it's a continuous overtime. I love how they're so willing to help her and you can feel the love and how much they care coming off the pages. Since this book is a multi POV we get to see what they guys are going through while they're separated and see how hard they're working to get her back.

I loved reading this book and can't wait to see what Devyn does for book 3! I think this cliff hanger is worse than book 1s, maybe. But regardless it was an amazing read, can't wait to see the group goes through.
