The Betrothed by Kiera Cass
4.0
*4.5 stars*
This book is nice. It has the right amount of descriptions, an engaging world, and an amazing plot. I find it to be the opposite of "The Selection" in case of the plot, with the girl being already in the king's court.
The one thing I found that I did NOT enjoy this one as much as Kiera Cass's other books because it seemed a lot more rushed instead of drawn out (for example, America's love story took place over 3 books). While I understand there is to be another book, I think some of the story could've waited for the next one.
STOP reading NOW if you don't want spoilers!
The ending has got to be one of the saddest resolutions I've ever read! Why, Kiera Cass?! Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?!?! Why kill off Silas? Is he really dead? How could they tell it was his bones because he was burned, making him beyond recognition? Could he have been captured? I really hope so because that was heartbreaking!!!!!!!
