What an absolutely stunning graphic novel! This is one of the Darkling’s origin stories, and it was done so beautifully in this format. I want to check out other books this illustrator has worked on, because I really clicked with her style. I loved how motion and height were depicted. It felt extremely cinematic. The Darkling’s first panel, his opening shot, made me stop in my tracks! I’m often left wanting more story out of a graphic novel, but this was a short story adapted to this new format, so the length and scope felt just right. So glad I got this beautiful copy signed by Bardugo!!
