Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

3.0

The major plot spoilers are in the content warnings. Alright… so this is a quick read, though certainly not a breezy one. Tate and Miles go through a lot in this and the book definitely lives up to its name and gets ugly at times. Though with the ugly side of love, there is also beauty.

One thing that is different is that Miles perspective is more poem like and follows a timeline six years before he meets Tate. Miles’ chapters won’t be for everyone as a result.

I did enjoy the writing, but have some
mixed feelings about our main characters. I had liked Tate more early on, but she… seemed more placid in their relationship. Spoilers incoming: She was okay with things in their relationship that were unhealthy, and I just wish she stood up for herself more. Miles had issues dealing with trauma, but that didn’t mean he deserved a free pass for his actions. Some things were glossed over, when they shouldn’t have been.
