スモーキーネクター Smoky Nectar by Akira Minazuki, ミナヅキアキラ
3.0
I was originally drawn to this because it has such a gorgeous art style. The story happens at a breakneck pace and tries to cram too much world-building into too little time. The general gist of the world is extremely interesting, but it feels like the book just threw it at me as fast as it could so it could quickly get to the [spicy] bits. The spicy bits are...eh. They're somehow both very explicit while also being vague. Many of the spicy scenes happen in flashbacks or in quick snapshots that fade to black. The spice we are shown is...okay...but it just felt corny to me, not that [spicy]. I did genuinely find the large world to be more interesting than the main couple at points. I did like the main couple and their dynamic, but they're thrown together so fast, that it feels like they ONLY get together for the [spice] scenes. I dunno, I'm mixed. I adored the art though! I honestly would read more just for the art.
