The Lake of Lost Girls is a multi-media thriller with multiple POVs, and multiple timelines set in 90’s academia. It was done SO well! At no point was I confused by the number of characters or timeline shifting. There was this overall sense of unease throughout. The book explored the ethics of true crime podcasting and blogging, imbalanced power dynamics, dark trauma, and withheld truths between friends. I personally love a thriller that includes a podcast, but even if you are not into podcasts, I think you would enjoy this one because it isn’t an overwhelming element to the book. The podcast and the blogger chapters were some of my favorites!
🎧5-Star production! I LOVED this full cast audiobook. Helen Lazer, Frankie Corzo, Sara Young, Haley Taylor, and David Bendena brought each character to life! I was completely immersed in the story. The short chapters in alternating POVs and media-types had me hooked. I had The Lake of Lost Girls in my headphones in every spare moment I had last week.
