I loved literally everything about this book. It was SO REAL. The descriptions of the catastrophe in the beginning are absolutely gut wrenching and hooked me in immediately. From there, every single facet of the story was so believable. The sexism (both covert and direct), the racism (both covert and direct), the unique horror and grief of being Jewish immediately after the Holocaust and losing almost your entire family all in one day, the humor and beautiful relationship between the main character and her husband, her anxiety, her mind and the way that she uses numbers to self soothe, ahhh, all of it was just so so so amazing. I can't wait to read the rest of this series!
