Blood Orange by Harriet Tyce

I've had this on my TBR for two years and finally picked it up from the library to read. This thriller has got to be one of the messiest books I've ever read, the characters have so much drama and whilst none of them are likeable whatsoever, I was so drawn into their lives. I found the main character Alison to be addictive, I just couldn't put the book down and wanted to see what decisions she would make and where they would take her.
Alison is a barrister and a large part of the book is her representing Madeleine who is accused of stabbing her husband. I do think this storyline was weaker than the domestic storyline with Alison and Carl. It was just predictable for me, and this was a theme with some of the other twists in the plot I just found them under-developed and obvious.
However, as Lisa Jewell blurbed too, what an insane twist at the end! The conclusion is just crazy and I completely didn't expect it.
I recommend this domestic thriller as as fast-paced messy ride, but check out the content warnings beforehand as I found the domestic abuse to be intense and difficult to read.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5
