Worst Case by James Patterson

Someone is kidnapping the wealthy children of New York billionaires. But he's not doing it for ransom money! He's quizzing these kids on the political state of the world, and if they get an answer wrong, they get killed! Det. Michael Bennett is teamed up with FBI Agent Emily Parker to find out who is behind the rampage of terror, and what exactly is motivating him, because it isn't money!
I quite enjoyed this. Of course, the plot and characters are as thin as plastic, but the pacing is top notch. It's an exciting read from start to finish. Short chapters mean you can race through it. If I hadn't been so busy in the last couple of weeks at work, I would have read it even faster! I'm still not sure what benefit there is to having Michael Bennett having ten kids in this series. I can't remember any of their names from book to book! Half of them don't even get name-checked in this one, I'm pretty sure!
But as far as fast-paced, action thrillers that let you switch your brain off, this hit the sweet spot!
