A Heart So Fierce and Broken by Brigid Kemmerer
5.0
Okay.I missed Harper and Rhen... A lot. One of the first things I did was skim for their POVs. There aren't any besides two. So, with the the lack of their Point of Views- I cannot rule anything out of character for either of them. This being because,as I mentioned, we are not seeing what is going on with them. It's simply not there. So, any developments are in the dark. I did not find any of Rhen's actions to be out of character or surprising, in my opinion. In the first book, he stated somewhere along the lines of he was born/raised to rule his country and I thought back to that often.
I absolutely love the relationship between the sisters in this book. Their relationship (at one point) had me in my feels. What strong and admirable relationship. Another thing I loved is Jacob's character becomes less annoying and more tolerable here.
Now, onto what I disliked (but not so much to knock it down a star) I feel like Grey was running away this entire book. Well he was .. I felt that to be somewhat out of character. I just expected him to tell Rhen immediately, but that could easily be chopped up to Grey being in his own best interest now since being released of his oath.
