Holy shit, this was so boring. And so annoying. I do not understand why so many people seem to love this one.
This entire book is just a bunch of snow, snow, snow and even more snow, with the occasional animal attack or some hunting.
And meanwhile, one of the characters was constantly sick and hurt, unable to really move or do anything. So you have an adventure-type book with a person who is pretty much completely immobile. Fun, right?
*sigh* I guess it’s what you get with a book about surviving in the Alaskan wilderness after a plane crash, but I simply just couldn’t be bothered. I definitely skimmed a lot, yet it still felt like way too much.
And seriously, August was so rude to the person who was literally trying to save him, and somehow I’m still supposed to like him? I think not. He was also incredibly dumb and very very selfish.
August and Keegan did not ever really talk or do anything other than sit in silence, so how that is supposed to become a loving relationship, I don’t even know. The chemistry is definitely non-existent so far.
Actually, I kinda feel like Keegan was completely creeping on August. I mean, he was literally lusting after a nearly dying man who’s constantly either unconscious or damn near hacking up a lung. Like.. um. Okay. Kinda weird to jack off to that, dude.
And later on, he 100% took sexual advantage of August needing him. It genuinely disgusted me. But then again, Keegan was also just really really pathetic.. So I don’t even know what I’m feeling about it all at this point.
Anyway, I’m mostly just so freaking bored. Nothing is keeping my interest, so I’m tapping out.
