Laziness Does Not Exist by Devon Price

5.0

What a surprise - lovely and compassionate read! I genuinely believe that if I gave this book to everyone in my life, each one would find a deep cut buried somewhere within its pages. Extremely relevant, poignant, and at times truly touching. The book is filled with very relatable experiences from other people that help you to realise how none of us are alone in battling with our perceptions of laziness and the limitations of our own abilities. Numerous points in this book I felt as though the author was specifically speaking to me - and whenever I couldn't relate specifically to a particular idea or experience, I could easily imagine they were specifically speaking to a friend, loved one, or partner of mine. Once Price describes and breaks down the laziness lie, you'll have difficulty unseeing it in so many aspects of your everyday life. Reading this was a therapeutic experience that saw me often nodding along in agreement with the author's words. Everyone I can think of in my life both past and present would benefit from the ponderings and exercises in these pages as there is a lot of practical advice for dealing with the negative interpretations The Laziness Lie may have given you about your own self worth. An inspiring combination of social commentary and analysis, real world experiences, psychological concepts, and practical advice. Highly recommended.
