Hyperion by Dan Simmons

Pilgrimage

This first book of The Hyperion Cantos has a framing structure much like that of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, in that it gives the backstory of each of the pilgrims, and how they connect to each other to be on the same pilgrimage. For much of this book, I was hanging on every word, but in other parts, my attention waned.
As a whole, this tale is worth the read.
