The Last Time I Saw You by Liv Constantine

2.0

This was just kind of all over the place. I think the problem was you pretty much knew who the bad person was that was doing things and it just took way too long for it to come out. I don't know the book had it's moments but definitely not something I would reread it in the future.

"The Last Time I Saw You" follows two women who used to be best friends growing up, Kate and Blaire. Kate is now married with a young daughter and is a successful surgeon. When someone murders her mother though, Kate is thrown trying to figure out who hates her so much to come after her and her family. Blaire is happily married and now a successful co-writer with her husband. Blaire comes back to town to pay respects to Kate's dead mother, but also to figure out who murdered her and who is harassing Kate.

Honestly, the whole book was just confusing. You follow either Kate and Blaire and both women have a lot of things going on that makes you wonder if they are being truthful. The other characters were not that developed. For example, Kate's husband, no idea about the guy outside of him being an architect with terrible reasoning.

The setting of this book takes place in the uber wealthy parts of Maryland.

The ending was just a letdown. There's a lot going on that is revealed and none of it made a lot of sense. Just go with it.
