This was a pretty creepy read, even though I think it could have been at least 100 pages shorter (especially since it felt very repetitive at times). I think some of the creepy scenes could have gone a little further and I wanted more from the ending, but I was engaged from start to finish.
You can clearly tell the author takes heavy inspiration from Stephen King. Some of his characterization (and let’s be honest the random inclusion of racism) felt very reminiscent of King in my opinion.
CWs for animal death (both referenced and depicted on page), body horror, creepy scenes with insects, gore/violence, racism
Story: 3/5
Audiobook: 5/5 (narrated by Michael Crouch & Jonathan Todd Ross)
Length: 15h25min
