Unfortunately, this was a miss for me. I just didn't connect with the characters or their relationship. Casey is the goofball that everyone makes fun of for being "dumb," and that just came across really disheartening instead of being banter the way the author intended. Landon wasn't very nice to Casey at times, and although that was acknowledged in the moment, not enough was done with his character as far as apologies go. Both MCs read very autistic/adhd coded, but that was never explicitly stated about their characters, I think the demi/ace(?) aspect of Landon and how that played out between him and Casey was written well, but overall, this story just didn't work for me. The audiobook was available to me with my Everand subscription and narrated by Copper North. 🌶
