The third and final book in David & Isaac's story was everything I hoped it would be. The nerves and worry I felt for these two with them being back in Zebulon and what that meant for them as a couple etc was palpable especially after the way book two ended but they needed to return in order to truly accept their reality and know that moving on was the right choice for them and their relationship.

This story wasn't just focused on David & Issac though, it highlights Aaron Issac's brother and what being in his position as a shunned family member really means and the isolation, heartbreak and devastation that causes across the board for the entire family in different ways. I think the interactions we get to see here were really poignant and important especially surrounding Nathan's illness (Issac's other brother) and how their Amish beliefs played into how and if he was able to receive treatment especially considering who the community would have to accept that help from.

I loved seeing how returning to Zebulon made both David & Isaac more self-assured in their decision to leave in the first place, and it actually strengthens their bond overall. I absolutely fell in love with and adored these characters, and this story, it had great emotional depth, development, and connection both in and outside of the romance aspect. The pace of the story was good and kept moving forward. The side characters were great. The religious aspect was definitely a pivotal plot point, but not too heavy, and the spice was great. John Solo did a fantastic job narrating and really delivered on the more emotive parts of the story. It's all around a fantastic trilogy that I would highly recommend! 🌶🌶
