I’m on a total CN Crawford kick and I absolutely crushed Avalon Tower this week 🤩. The first book in the series brings together Nia and Raphael in a slow burn with some hefty miscommunication that even occurred years before the book’s first chapter.

The unique magic systems used to spy on the Fey and dismantle the veil. Then, think King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table but give them more magic, make them spies, and make them part of the British Military Intelligence units. It led to a powerful and fast paced novel that didn’t feel like it was more than 500 pages.

The FMC and MMC play the long game and the spicy content in this book is pretty tame for a NA book but it’s still explicit. CN Crawford knows how to build the tension between love interests.

I was engrossed with the plot, the characters, the thrill of the spy craft from the prologue to the final sentence. The plot points were unexpected and some of the twists were stress inducing while others had me kicking my feet in delight.

Perfect for those who loved: A Trial of Sorcerers by Elise Kova, Trial of the Sun Queen by Nisha J Tuli, Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros, and The Spoken Mage series by Melanie Cellier.
