Come as You Are: The Surprising New Science That Will Transform Your Sex Life by Emily Nagoski
5.0
what an awesome book. it's very detailed and yet very approachable. the metaphors Nagoski uses really worked for me. her example stories also add real substance to the book--she has a handful of couples that are composites of real people, and we track their progress throughout the book, applying the nitty-gritty stuff we just learned to a specific case. i think this book could work for afab (assigned female at birth) people of all genders (i myself am nonbinary), as long as reading "woman" as a short hand for "vulva + socialized as a woman" does not make them dysphoric. also an excellent book for anyone who has sex with people with vulvas.
ps. after reading some of the reviews, i want to specify that this definitely reads as a self-help book. the science is harnessed to undo the harmful conditioning that afab people are subjected to. if you are looking for an "objective", no frills summary of latest research, this book is probably not for you.
