The final book of the Knockemout series has been my most anticipated as Sloane & Lucians antagonistic, snarky, banter filled dynamic has been teased throughout the first two books and I had to know their backstory/history and what caused these two people who clearly want each other to have such dislike for the other.
Suit Daddy & his Pixie didn't disappoint. The sarcastic filled banter between these two was great and made me laugh out loud in places, and the sexual chemistry/tension between them was palpable. I liked the flashback chapters that were used to show us what happened between these two and why they have held each other at a distance for two decades. It felt like each chapter was slowly revealing the heart behind their animosity and how infact neither of them had stopped caring for or looking out for the other. I was worried what the catalyst for these two being driven apart would be as I didn't want it to be juvenile and it wasn't, how they reacted at the time and handled it going forward tracks for their ages at the time and how that snowballed and continued into adulthood.
The suspense aspect of this story was ok, I wasn't really invested in it, and it was obvious there was going to be more to it than the author wanted us to initially believe. I did like how it eventually drove Lucian to wake up and admit his feelings for Sloane and how she pushed back against him a little although i would have liked more of that and for him to have to grovel and little more. The side characters were great, and i love Knox. I think overall, this was a good end to the series, and I enjoyed the bonus epilogue at the end. Books one & three were the better ones of this trilogy as book 2 did nothing for me, Lila Winters & Sebastian York narrate, and I love these two together and thoroughly enjoyed their performances This was an enjoyable and entertaining listen with great humour and spice. 🌶🌶
