This was really just fine. Nothing about it was bad, but nothing about it blew me away. It gave me a lot of The Invitation vibes and I didn’t even see that movie… but truly this book felt just like the previews of that movie and also Ready or Not.

There was a cheeky little twist at the end that I didn’t see coming, but I think I was too put off by the pacing of the book for that twist to do much of anything for me. The book is called The Family Game, we new a GAME was coming, but in the end the actual game was just a blip in the book and I would have loved for that to have been drawn out more and more suspenseful. There was just too much build up in my opinion.

With that said, it was an entertaining read so I don’t want to be too harsh about it, but I’m still grumpy about all the little plot lines that were kind of pointlessly introduced that we never got resolutions too. It just felt very messy and unfinished at the end.
