Redemption by Mike Lawson, Mike Lawson

5.0

Writing books that are part of a series has an issue. Once the character is developed, each additional book adds details and the writer has to keep them in mind and use them. The series gets stuck in these details. Reading about them is no fun either. It becomes like a chore.

Mike Lawson's main series is about Joe DeMarco where we have a universe of existing characters, connections, and factoids. I'm no longer able to read it. Redemption saves us from all that trouble - you get a typical early DeMarco book without the burden of insignificant details and characters.

I liked it very much. It's a bit dystopian but within the realm of things that could happen.
