The Prisoner of Heaven by Carlos Ruiz Zafón
4.0
I'd like to give this a 3.5. I loved the narration, the prose, the characters. The torture and misery of the prison was difficult, but helped me understand wartime Spain better. I loved the city, Barcelona, a city I love. My main hesitation is that it felt like a part of a series - like there was information I didn't know from books before and that the story was unfinished. But I liked it enough to be totally caught up and obsessed with listening to the rest of the series!
