I know this is an unpopular opinion but, I didn’t end up liking this as much as I thought I would. It was good! I really enjoyed the first half for sure. But, I was surprised when I struggled to remain wholly invested in the second half (when the story became a somewhat dry depiction of a decade-long war).

I still cried at the end, it was still unbelievably tragic. I still cared about the characters (sweet Patroclus in particular). It’s not that I didn’t like it, I just expected to like it more, is all.
