This duology was incredible! It picks up right where One Dark Window left off. The Shepherd King and Elspeth have now traded places and the highwaymen led by Ravyn and that Shepherd King must now work together to save Blunder and themselves. While some face the darkness with the spirit of the woods others must face down the darkness much closer to home. But the Shepherd King has a plan to exact revenge, rewrite history, do what should have been done before. But nothing is that easy of course. The character development in this book was so incredible. I fell in love with so many of them. They each learned to embrace the pain to find courage and let it not twist them into monsters as it had to so many others. To choose to do good - the right thing. I loved this book so much, I will be rereading!
